JAUNT ALL IN ONE

Toronto six-piece JAUNT refer to their newest song ‘All In One’ as the keystone of their upcoming album of the same name. The reason being is the production decision to preserve the demo vocals and replace the backing track with instrumentation recorded with BADBADNOTGOOD’s Alex Sowinski, then formed the basis for the remaining nine tracks. Speaking of the pivotal song, the band says that “The song is an optimistic ballad about what it means to be present. We hope it can spark a bit of joy and encouragement for those who listen in these strange times that we are collectively experiencing. In a way, the song feels mysteriously prescient for the moment. Hope everyone is staying safe, connecting with their loved ones, and keeping their head up.” As with prior release ‘Delighted To Be Spoken To’, the visuals are equally important to JAUNT’s vision and this time we’ve received a video shot on 16mm film, directed by Pia Perez and Sylvian Chaussée. It depicts lead singer Tom Helliwell in solitude painting his self-portrait, capturing the theme of connection and creativity that exists throughout ‘All In One’. Speaking of which, it’s not too long until we get our paws on the All In One LP, officially out April 16th. - Hannah Thacker
